DAR Mini Course info

New to Adventure Racing and multi sport events, then give it a go with the DAR mini, this will give you a taste of running, biking, kayaking and the atmosphere that is invloved at these great events. You don't have to be very fit for the mini, just willing to give it a go. Course for the mini is; 8km cyle from Dingle to Ventry beach, Run Ventry beach 5km, Cycle back to Dingle 6km, 0.7 run to kayak, 1km kayak and 1km Run to Finish. Total 21km

Route description

1. Cycle 8km Dingle to Ventry     Distance 8km / 5 mls   Height Gain 80m  Height Loss 80m

2. Beach Run. Ventry Beach.  Distance 5km / 3.2mls  Height Gain 0m  Height Loss 0m

All of the Run is on the beach with a few stream crossings

Kayak. Milltown.  Distance 1km / 0.7 mls  Height Loss or Gain 0 & 400m run to bike transition

3. Cycle: Ventry to Dingle via back road.    Distance 6km / 4 mls   Height Gain 80m  Height Loss 80m

All of cycle is on surfaced roads.

5. Rack bike at transition Milltown, run 700m to kayak, kayak 1km.

6. Run 1km to Finish. e  Dingle.    Distance 1km / 0.7mls    Height Gain 0m  Height Loss 10m

DAR Sport  Total Distance 21km  / 13 mls   Height Gain 160m / 500ft  Height Loss 160m / 500ft

Dingle Adventure Race

FAQ's

  • When should I register?

    Closing date for Registration is 23.59pm 3 days before the race. Race limited to max of 950 competitors.
  • What Equipment do I need?

    Equipment list: For DAR and DAR Sport
    • Small backpack / bumbag
    • Wind-proof / waterproof top
    • Light mid fleece (spare)
    • Small first Aid kit
    • Drink bottle
    • Energy Bars
    • Hat and Gloves
    • Whistle

    Requirements for each section of Race

    Cycle: Bike (any type), Helmet, pump & repair kit
    Mountain: mountain running shoes, equipment list above
    Run: Suitable footwear & clothing
    Kayak: Buoyancy Aids, Cagoules, Single Sea Kayaks and paddles (supplied by race organisers, unless you bring your own, any kayaks or kayaking equipment must be brought to registration area before 8.20am on race morning)
    Race numbers will be given at registration
  • How fit do I have to be?

    Individual - good level of fitness required
  • Is there an after party?

    It's Dingle of course there is? Danno's Bar, Dingle 20.15 Prize giving and presentations 20.45 + into the night after-party in Dannos Bar near the marina, live music and light food, Dingle
  • When is Registration / Check-in time ?

    Registration opens Friday at 5pm at Dingle Marina, white building by sail boats (car park opposite Oceanworld).
  • What are the prizes for the race?

    To be announced...
  • What happens my Bike after stage 1, Dingle to Cloghane?

    Your bike will be transported back to Dingle (start/finish point Dingle marina) by organisers with great care, so you can collect after finishing the race.
